Real Cask Ale

Delivered through five hand pumps at the bar

From extra pale ale and fruity, hoppy numbers to rich stouts and porters, we take our cask ale selection, cellarship and conditioning  very seriously and try to serve something fresh and delicious for all tastes and pockets. We have sold over 360 different cask ales from over thirty different breweries around Norfolk and Suffolk in our first three years, such is the turnover of our cask ale, no two days are the same.

"Every week is a beer festival at the Angel Inn Loddon"

– and what’s on Thirsty Thursday won’t necessarily be there for Friday Five let alone the rest of the weekend! To keep abreast of what’s on tap, simpy download the ‘Real Ale Finder’ app.

And don’t miss our annual Valentine’s Beer & Cocktails Festival Weekend.

The Breweries

Visiting our breweries is an integral part of what we do to build a relationship with our supply chain and to help our customers understand that the key to what they are drinking is in the provenance. Take Barsham Brewery, near Fakenham,  for example. All the barley is grown on their own farm estate before being separately malted at Crisp Maltings and then returned to the brewery to be turned into a sublime ale – a true, Norfolk, farm to pint success story!

Best kept secret:

Whilst the various hop varieties, which flavour our beers, come from all over the world, we try to select beer only from local brewers who ensure that all their grain is grown here in East Anglia. It’s the grain, predominantly malted barley, wheat or rye, that gives ales their body. Known in the trade as the ‘Malt Coast’, this region is one of the foremost growing areas for such cereals.
